The City of Miami Beach, Florida, is seeking a vendor to provide pedestrian enhancements near local schools. The project is focused on improving the existing pedestrian and bicycle network to encourage safer and more efficient walking and cycling as alternative transportation methods for students and the community.
The scope of work includes clearing and grubbing, sod installation, concrete sidewalk, curb, and gutter removal and replacement, milling and resurfacing, and utility adjustments. Additional tasks involve guiderail installation, installing detectable warning surfaces, signing and pavement marking—including bike lanes—and a complete suite of signalization improvements. Signalization work will encompass conduits, signal cables, pull and splice boxes, electrical power infrastructure, signals poles, mast arm assemblies, pedestrian detectors and signals, loop assemblies, and beacons. All enhancements are to be constructed within the existing road right-of-way.
The contract will be for a one-year period. Interested parties should note key deadlines for submitting questions and the scheduled pre-bid meeting.
