City Of Brownsville
Organization overview and procurement intelligence available on paid plans.
A government authority in Brownsville, Texas is seeking a qualified vendor to provide comprehensive sales tax audit, compliance, analytics, and revenue enhancement services. The primary goal is to ensure accurate allocation of local sales and use tax revenues, identify and recover underreported or misallocated taxes, and enhance the city's capacity to monitor and analyze sales tax trends.
The scope includes conducting sales tax audits by reviewing confidential allocation data from the Comptroller, identifying businesses that may have underreported or improperly allocated sales tax, and assisting the city in correcting records and recovering lost revenues. Coordination with the Texas Comptroller is anticipated as part of the recovery process.
The vendor will also be responsible for ongoing sales tax compliance monitoring, which includes identifying anomalies or trends in sales tax activity, spotting inactive or improperly coded businesses, and making recommendations to improve the accuracy of compliance and reporting. In addition, the vendor must provide robust data analytics, including access to dashboards or reports for analysis of sales tax trends, and deliver periodic reports on a monthly, quarterly, or agreed-upon basis.
