KEY REQUIREMENTS

Must have experience designing or implementing comprehensive Safety Management Systems aligned with recognized standards such as CSA or ISO
Must have knowledge of the Workers Compensation Board mandate and governance structure

DESCRIPTION

This opportunity seeks a vendor to provide a comprehensive safety management system solution. The scope includes assessing existing documentation, processes, and practices, identifying gaps in compliance, and developing components that meet legislative and organizational requirements.

The vendor will be responsible for updating and developing safety management system (SMS) policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures, as well as establishing governance and accountability structures. Key tasks include reviewing and enhancing hazard identification and risk assessment protocols, incident reporting and investigation processes, and corrective action procedures. Standardized tools and templates for investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action tracking are required.

Additional responsibilities include establishing methods for trend analysis of hazards and incidents, updating or developing safety and health training materials, and creating a competency management plan with clear training requirements and evaluation processes. The vendor will also advise on communication methods to reinforce SMS practices and support safety awareness initiatives across the organization. Reporting tools such as dashboards or scorecards will be developed for monitoring and management review.
