DESCRIPTION
The procuring entity is seeking a vendor to provide road and weather information system (RWIS) and operational maintenance services in Ontario. The scope includes provision and support of a commercially available hosted, web-based platform that is also accessible on mobile devices for weather monitoring and RWIS operations.
Required services include polling, data collection, and communications, as well as meteorological support such as local area and pavement forecasts, weather warnings, watches, and special weather statements. The vendor will also be expected to provide on-demand maintenance services to investigate and resolve identified issues, along with notifications delivered through the web application, SMS, and email to designated users.
The contract also includes data storage, retrieval, reporting, and analysis for all data captured and reported by RWIS stations, as well as historical weather forecasts. Training and documentation must be provided to identified regional winter operations staff. The anticipated contract term is three years, and questions are due by May 12, 2026.
