A qualified vendor is sought to develop a comprehensive river restoration strategy and facilitate habitat restoration planning in Washington. The contractor will support the collation and interpretation of existing field data and studies, acquire new data as feasible, and contribute to and analyze hydrological modeling results. The vendor will also engage technical expertise to inform approaches that are tailored to local needs and realities.
As part of the role, the contractor will facilitate the River Basin subcommittee, assisting in setting restoration targets, sharing project information, and generating new project concepts through iterative vetting and prioritization. The scope includes the identification of actions for future habitat restoration, protection, and enhancement. The vendor will establish a centralized storage solution for reports, datasets, and spatial information, ensuring ongoing access and transparency for all project participants.
Additional responsibilities include compiling summaries of water, groundwater, hydrology, water quality, and aquatic species studies contributed by a range of stakeholders, including federal, tribal, state, local, and private entities, and making these summaries accessible via a shared platform. The contractor will identify data gaps, conduct drone surveys of priority areas as resources permit, and develop effective methods for sharing spatial data relevant to project development. The final deliverables will include a written "Local Strategy" and clearly communicated restoration vision and targets for the basin.
