British Columbia institutions are seeking information from vendors regarding student information system (SIS) solutions. The goal is to gather insights into various solution approaches, including both commercial and open-source options. Respondents are asked to address possible deployment and operating models such as SaaS, hosted, on-premise, or hybrid configurations, including associated data residency practices to ensure compliance with local and institutional requirements.
The request also seeks input on common integration patterns with campus systems, such as identity management, learning management systems, finance, HR administration, CRM, and reporting or analytics platforms. Vendors should describe key implementation considerations, provide indicative timelines, and outline potential migration pathways from legacy systems. Specific SIS capabilities of interest include tools for creating and maintaining student profiles, managing bio-demographic and academic data, transcript generation, and account hold administration.
It is recognized that no single solution may fully address all SIS capabilities required across the sector, and feedback on how different solutions may bridge these gaps is welcomed.
