Maryland is seeking information from vendors on a comprehensive enterprise solution to support maternal fetal medicine across clinical settings. The desired system must facilitate the entire workflow of maternal fetal ultrasound procedures—from acquiring operational and clinical data, displaying both images and structured reports, generating and communicating final reports, to managing coding and billing information. The solution should obtain, archive, and allow review of both visual and discrete data formats, supporting standardized fetal and maternal assessments with the ability to review serial scans over time.
The platform should enable effective collation and refinement of clinical and operational information for evidence-based decision-making, using standardized content, calculations, and reproducible imaging. It must support timely information sharing with downstream providers and subspecialists to enhance care coordination and optimize outcomes for pregnant individuals and neonates. Legal documentation of MFMUS images directly to the electronic health record (EHR) is required, along with full interoperability and standardization across enterprise equipment.
Core technical requirements include importing patient demographics from systems of record, provider-specific image display configurability utilizing hanging protocol functionality, image manipulation for diagnostic purposes, storage and conversion of data upon image capture, and data tagging to facilitate comparative assessments. Strict access control through user authentication must also be maintained to ensure data security and privacy.
