Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction
Organization overview and procurement intelligence available on paid plans.
The State of Ohio is seeking information from qualified vendors regarding secure education apps management platforms suitable for use in correctional facilities. The requested solutions should be comparable to Nucleons–Achieve DXP and support secure digital educational content delivery across a variety of device types, including tablets, Chromebooks, Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, iMac, MacBook), Windows PCs, Thin Clients, and Viasat Tablets. The goal is to understand vendor capabilities, experience, and demonstrated outcomes in correctional and workforce education settings, with particular attention to measurable impacts on participant education, training, and workforce readiness.
Vendors are asked to provide details on available implementation strategies, technical architectures, and illustrative, non-binding cost models designed for state-wide or phased deployments. The platform should offer core features such as Single Sign-On (SSO) with Google Workspace (IDP), integration with Active Directory, robust device management, and support for ADA accessibility requirements. Additional priorities include capabilities for monitoring student platform usage—such as through recordings, usage hours, or face recognition—and secure printing features for use with educational resources like Encyclopedias, CANVAS, Blackboard, and Google Workspace applications.
Vendors should describe supported deployment models (on-premises, cloud, or hybrid) and explain how each model addresses the unique security and connectivity challenges present in correctional environments. The state seeks solutions that can manage various end-user device types within housing units, classrooms, and workforce centers, with scalability to support multiple institutions and thousands of concurrent users, as well as the ability to facilitate phased rollout strategies.
