SUMMARY

Request for information for retrofitting fire alarm notification systems and software across multiple buildings in California, including hardware and software integration and compliance with security standards.

DESCRIPTION

A request for information has been issued to identify vendors capable of providing fire alarm notification and software retrofit services across multiple buildings in California. The objective is to upgrade and integrate existing fire alarm notification systems with a newer software platform, ensuring both hardware and software interoperability. The project involves retrofitting eight buildings for compatibility with the new software, updating additional buildings currently connected through SIMS for integration, and converting the latest building systems from SIMS to the new platform.

In addition, vendors are expected to propose solutions for replacing the radio receiver capabilities provided by Simplex consoles, which are essential for monitoring fire alarms and capturing local agency radio traffic. The project aims to establish either a unified software platform or leverage a third-party monitoring service that supports all varieties of alarm monitoring. Solutions must offer real-time data visualization for system status, alarms, and performance, as well as automated fault reporting.

Selected vendors will be required to design and implement the necessary hardware and software, ensuring that the system meets requirements for secure communication, data encryption, user access management, comprehensive logging, and alerting. The platform should support seamless communication with Facilities Operations staff, display a high degree of usability, and accommodate both on-site and remote monitoring. Interested parties must demonstrate an ability to provide collaborative, solutions-oriented service in a complex, multi-disciplinary environment.
