DESCRIPTION
The Massachusetts Retirement System is seeking investment management firms to oversee a U.S. large cap equity mandate for its $8.6 billion defined benefit pension fund. The fund has a 19% target allocation to U.S. large cap equity, currently distributed across five strategies. Both current managers and new firms are encouraged to submit proposals.
Eligible strategies must focus on U.S. large cap equity and may include core, value, and growth approaches. Proposals must be actively managed, though index or enhanced funds may be considered for core strategies. The investment vehicle should be a commingled fund or a separately managed account; mutual funds are not eligible for consideration.
Applicants must demonstrate a minimum five-year track record and manage at least $1 billion in assets within the proposed strategy.
