A government authority in Florida is seeking a vendor to provide a Radar Data Distribution System (RDDS) designed with a flexible, modular, and open system architecture. This system must support both serial and IP data feeds from remote radar and sensor sources, enabling multi-cast distribution of radar and sensor data in required formats to mission processing systems, customers, participating government agencies, and partner nations.
The RDDS should function as a programmable-controlled radar data matrix switching and distribution system. It will include multiple bi-directional serial and Internet Protocol data ports, switch and module controllers, power supplies, and interactive system management control workstations for administrators, maintainers, and operators. The system is required to offer low latency—specifically, less than 100 nanoseconds for data distribution applications.
Additionally, the architecture must facilitate the integration of specialized radar and sensor data feeds and the incorporation of new software to meet evolving data distribution and sharing requirements. The design should provide a clear pathway for future technical enhancements, ensuring the RDDS remains adaptable as new technologies mature.
