The municipality in Illinois is seeking a qualified vendor to design, supply, and install a complete projection mapping system for an outdoor mural site. The project encompasses providing high-luminosity outdoor projectors, specialized software for image warping and blending, a media server for curated content playback, weatherproof mounting enclosures, as well as a robust power and connectivity infrastructure. The goal is to achieve seamless dynamic visuals projected onto an existing mural wall approximately 8.5 feet high by 49 feet wide, with precise calibration to align imagery across the surface.
The selected vendor will be responsible for the entire process, from concept design to final installation, including any minor renovations necessary to adapt the existing site for the system. The projection mapping setup must include a computer system to store and schedule video content, typically integrated with software such as Christie Mystique, Pandoras Box, Mad Mapper, or Resolume. Additionally, a camera-based alignment system will be necessary to ensure accurate projection across multiple units.
This installation aims to support regularly scheduled evening displays as well as special community events, such as festivals and holiday celebrations, creating immersive visual experiences for local audiences.
