Organization overview and procurement intelligence available on paid plans.
The government authority in Burnaby, British Columbia, is seeking a vendor to provide professional services for a smart waste program. This initiative involves the deployment of electronic tracking devices, powered exclusively by low-toxicity alkaline batteries, in publicly accessible multifamily residential, commercial, and institutional garbage containers. The objective is to monitor and report on waste movement across the region's solid waste system, ensuring that generator levies are collected and remitted properly.
Tracking devices must use data from Cell Tower ID, global navigation satellite system (GNSS) scans, and Wi-Fi scans to determine their position over time. Collected data should be managed with off-the-shelf software capable of providing detailed movement and location reports. The vendor will be responsible for device deployment, ongoing data collection, and analysis to enhance waste tracking and system transparency. The contract will span a period of three years.
All questions regarding the RFP must be submitted by April 20, 2026.
