The selected vendor will provide comprehensive government relations and public affairs services aimed at representing and protecting the interests of ratepayers, owner cities, and the broader public before various governmental bodies and agencies. The scope includes advising, developing, recommending, and implementing strategic approaches that support legislation and policies related to water supply protection, public health and safety, and fiscal responsibility.
Responsibilities include assisting in the creation of advocacy programs, securing governmental support, and facilitating the introduction of relevant information to public representatives. The vendor will also design and execute strategies, in collaboration with designated representatives, to raise awareness of critical issues within state administration and the legislature while enhancing direct communication channels.
Additional tasks involve providing up-to-date status reports on relevant legislative bills, maintaining effective working relationships with legislators, committee members, government officials, and representatives of other public agencies, and supporting the advancement of legislative objectives and programs. The contract period will be for one year.
