The government authority in Illinois is seeking qualified vendors to provide professional design engineering services for a range of public space projects. The scope of these services includes visioning, planning, design, engineering, and management related to streetscapes, multimodal and commercial corridor improvements, on-street bicycle facilities, pedestrian safety enhancements, off-street trails, as well as recreational and riverfront developments. Additional areas of focus include neighborhood plazas, small gathering spaces, landscape beautification, sustainable infrastructure elements, community identifiers, site furnishings, and both pedestrian and street lighting.
Selected firms will be tasked with project types ranging from plazas, pocket parks, and seating areas to tactical urbanism and placemaking initiatives. Responsibilities also involve preparing detailed plans, specifications, and estimates, as well as conducting corridor and feasibility studies, producing concept and master plans, and developing applicable guidelines and best management practices.
Interested vendors should note key project deadlines for meetings and question submissions as outlined in the project information. Firms with comprehensive experience in public space design and engineering are encouraged to respond.
