DESCRIPTION

The government authority in Rhode Island is seeking a qualified vendor to provide professional auditing services. The selected auditor will be required to express an opinion on the fair presentation of the entity's basic financial statements, which include government-wide and fund financial statements, as well as notes to the financial statements, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

In addition, the auditor is expected to perform specific procedures mandated by generally accepted auditing standards related to the required supplementary information outlined by the governmental accounting standards board. Key areas of review will include management’s discussion and analysis, the schedule of revenues, expenditures and changes in fund balance (budget vs. actual), and schedules pertaining to defined benefit pension plans, as applicable.
