DESCRIPTION

The government authority located in Columbia, South Carolina seeks a qualified vendor to deliver comprehensive production, administration, scoring, and reporting services for performance task assessments. These assessments will serve to identify students in grades two through five for placement in Gifted and Talented (G&T) programs.

Vendors will be responsible for developing assessments for these grade levels, ensuring that the tests feature distinctive characteristics beyond standard aptitude and achievement measures. Key characteristics include de-emphasis on time, incorporation of manipulatives to facilitate problem-solving, and the use of open-ended questioning sessions for pre-teaching the nature of the performance tasks. The assessments are divided into a primary level for grades two and three, and an intermediate level for grades four and five, with each level consisting of four forms containing similar test items with comparable difficulty.

The resulting contract will be awarded for a two-year term. Questions regarding the proposal must be submitted by April 8, 2026.
