The United States Coast Guard is announcing an upcoming opportunity for the construction of new residential housing in Seward, Alaska. This project involves building three new duplex housing units, with an additional optional bid for the construction of a maintenance support building. The duplex units will be situated in a newly developed neighborhood on government-owned lots, and will encompass structures featuring three or four bedrooms. Notably, one of the duplexes will offer ADA accessible design features in both units to ensure compliance with accessibility requirements.
The selected contractor will be responsible for all aspects of new housing construction, including earthwork, utilities, and associated services, in accordance with industry standards. The maintenance support building will include a dedicated shop area, an office space, and restroom facilities. The contract will be awarded on a firm fixed price basis, and is subject to regulations under the World Trade Organization Government Procurement Agreement and relevant Free Trade Agreements.
