The City of Urbandale, Iowa is seeking a qualified construction management firm to serve as the agent for the new police headquarters project. The selected firm will be responsible for evaluating the project budget, developing a comprehensive Construction Management plan, and establishing cost and time parameters. Responsibilities also include implementing clear protocols and managing an effective project information system.
Working collaboratively with the engineering, landscape, and architectural teams, the construction manager will establish, monitor, and enforce both design and construction schedules. Additional duties include providing value engineering, conducting constructability reviews, and preparing detailed project cost estimates throughout all design phases. The firm will assist with reviewing and coordinating design documents, preparing bid documents, general conditions, and Division I specifications, as well as coordinating owner-provided items.
The construction manager will perform market analysis to promote maximum competition for project bids, develop strategies in alignment with the owner's goals for local contractors and suppliers, and support various procurement options. They will also assist the owner in receiving and evaluating bids to ensure a fair and competitive process.
