KEY REQUIREMENTS

Submit proposals under this RFQ to be eligible for the City's future RFP for Newport Beach Police Headquarters Architectural Services.
Have experience designing and permitting police stations larger than 50,000 SF, preferably in the Southern California Region.
Have been the lead architectural firm for three police station projects in the last ten years that were successfully constructed or are in construction.
Have experience with other large (+50,000 SF) civic building projects in Southern California within the last ten years.
Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) must not exceed twenty-five pages (8.5"x11" sheets, single sided, ≥11 font, single spaced).
Reference project narratives/descriptions must include background, design scope, requirements, and names and roles of team members.
Each listed project must include a final design and estimated construction cost.
Do not submit any consultant fee schedule(s).
SOQs must earn a minimum of 80 points in the evaluation to be considered for ranking and inclusion in a future RFP.

DESCRIPTION

The government authority in Newport Beach, California is seeking architectural services for the design and development of a new police headquarters facility. The project encompasses an estimated 75,000 square foot building and includes a parking garage designed to accommodate at least 275 vehicles.

The selected firm will be responsible for providing innovative and world-class architectural design, design development, and final conceptual designs. Responsibilities also include generating simulation and flyover/fly-through graphics, supporting public outreach efforts, and delivering cost estimating and value engineering services. Professional surveying and civil engineering, such as hydrology, hydraulic analysis, storm drain, water and sewer studies, grading, roadway, and traffic design, are required.

The project also involves structural design for large retaining walls and the parking structure, water quality and erosion control design, as well as mechanical engineering. The intent is to deliver a comprehensive and coordinated design solution for a critical public safety facility.
