A vendor is sought to provide a robust point of sale (POS) system for use during a major event, capable of managing high-volume transactions for a municipal events centre. The solution should have a proven track record supporting venues of similar size and complexity.
Essential features include the ability to generate both paper and electronic receipts, integrated credit card processing or authorization, and support for multiple payment methods including cash, debit, various credit cards, store credit, gift certificates, and more. The system may be cloud-based or on-premises, but must offer a straightforward interface suitable for concession staff. Additional requirements include support for concessions, restaurant, and mobile in-suite services, full PCI compliance, and back-office capabilities for reconciliation, device, menu, and employee management. The POS should provide standard and custom reporting, be able to function in off-line mode, enable user-defined tenders and split tenders per invoice, and offer detailed inventory search and display features such as item SKU, model, description, availability, order date, serial numbers, and pictures. Barcode scanning at the POS is also required.
