An agency in Colorado is seeking a qualified vendor to provide a comprehensive Point of Sale (POS) system replacement and upgrade service. The project involves replacing the existing Square-based POS solution with a more robust and scalable platform that supports operations across all physical sales locations, the agency's web store, and back-office processing functions.
The new POS system must enable in-store and online sales processing for fare and non-fare products, such as monthly passes, eco passes, tickets, books, and branded merchandise. It should support multi-channel payment processing, including credit and debit cards, checks, cash, vouchers, and employer-issued transportation benefit cards. Additional requirements include invoicing and contract management tools, offline transaction processing with automatic uploads, real-time reporting and reconciliation with detailed audit trails, and comprehensive inventory control for both fare media and merchandise.
The solution should provide web store integrations for SKU management, order scheduling, shipping logistics, tax configuration, as well as facilitate refunds, exchanges, coupon processing, and advanced audit tracking. Security and compliance are key, with required features including role-based access, data encryption, PCI compliance, and strong network controls. The selected vendor will be responsible for the full implementation, including detailed documentation, testing, user training, and provision of any necessary proprietary hardware compatible with the proposed platform.
