DESCRIPTION
The government authority in Alaska is seeking a vendor to provide patient financial early out self-pay and Medicare billing services. The selected contractor will deliver comprehensive revenue cycle management support, focusing on self-pay and early-out account management as well as specialized Medicare billing services.
The scope includes providing one remote, full-time equivalent staff member (40 hours per week), supporting onboarding of new Medicare Billers, and maintaining management of negotiated payment plans until settlement or 120 days of non-payment. After the placement period, any unpaid accounts will be returned to the hospital’s primary collection agency. The contractor will be authorized to offer a 15% discount if outstanding balances are cleared within 45 days from the first statement date.
In addition, the vendor must offer multilingual telephone support for patients, assist the Billing Manager in creating a Desk Reference Tool for the permanent Medicare Billing position, and furnish revenue cycle analytics, including weekly collection status and account updates. Detailed receipt reports must accompany monthly billing invoices. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for April 2, 2026.
