This RFP seeks a vendor to provide overhead sign support design services for the improvement of roadway signage systems in Ohio. The scope includes identifying, evaluating, and developing standard overhead sign support structures to accommodate longer spans and arms, as well as larger sign areas while optimizing safety, flexibility, and cost-efficiency.
Vendors are expected to determine the structural and economic feasibility of implementing longer-span supports, develop span-type and cantilever designs tailored to operational needs, and avoid over-engineering. Evaluation of the benefit–cost ratio of proposed alternatives against current standards is required. Solutions should strictly adhere to safety regulations and minimize the impact on roadway clearance and visibility.
