SUMMARY

The authority in Washington requires a vendor to update the National Capital Region Freight Plan, delivering comprehensive analyses, visualizations, and interactive GIS materials for stakeholders and decision-makers.

DESCRIPTION

The government authority in Washington seeks a qualified vendor to provide comprehensive services for updating the National Capital Region Freight Plan. The selected consultant will be responsible for data and information gathering, analysis, plan writing, and the development of explanatory charts, graphs, GIS analysis, and map creation. The scope also includes freight-related analytical work, such as examining current freight travel by mode, estimating truck origin-destination movements, and forecasting future freight demand within the region.

The consultant will develop a variety of visual materials, including maps and charts, to illustrate freight system usage and performance, and will collect and analyze economic data trends impacting regional freight demand. Additionally, the contract calls for the creation of a visually appealing brochure to communicate key plan findings to elected officials and stakeholders, and for the development of online resources such as an ArcGIS story map and interactive dashboard. All geospatial work will make use of structured online GIS data, including highway base maps and jurisdictional boundaries. The contract period will be for one year.
