The government authority in Towson, Maryland is seeking a qualified contractor to provide comprehensive motorized rigging replacement services for scenic and lighting line sets. The scope of work includes the removal of nine existing motorized line sets and installation of eight new motorized line sets, comprising four scenic and four lighting line sets. For each scenic and lighting line set, the contractor will supply and install new hoist motors, head blocks, loft blocks, steel cables, fittings, and batten chains. In addition, the lighting line sets will require the removal and replacement of buss drop rigging components and counterweight systems.
The contractor will also be responsible for removing one supplemental line set, including the motor, steel cables, fittings, and chains, with the existing blocks to remain in place. Inspection of existing truss pipe battens is required to confirm their satisfactory condition for reuse. The project further involves the removal and replacement of all control wiring and electrical wiring beginning at the drive cabinets, which are to be retrofitted for the new system or replaced if necessary. Design and engineering of the new rigging system, including stamped shop drawings, are part of the required deliverables.
All project-related questions must be submitted no later than February 20, 2026. The contract period is set for one year, and a pre-bid meeting is scheduled for February 13, 2026.
