The Department of the Air Force (DAF) is conducting market research through this Request for Information (RFI) focused on modernizing its Enterprise IT Service Management (ITSM). The DAF relies on a diverse portfolio of IT products and services to support its global mission and recognizes the need to optimize its ITSM ecosystem to enhance performance, affordability, and speed of service delivery. As part of this modernization effort, DAF is seeking innovative industry input on emerging ITSM trends, cost and performance improvement alternatives, and the integration of technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The DAF is particularly interested in fresh approaches that move beyond traditional ITSM frameworks, solutions that can streamline and automate ITSM functions, and strategies for reducing complexity—both technologically and organizationally. Respondents are also asked to address the role of AI in ITSM, evaluate various service delivery models (including enterprise-scale SaaS and alternatives), and suggest financial models for dynamic IT cost management. Guidance encourages actionable recommendations, with submissions limited to 20 pages in PDF format.
This RFI seeks to identify forward-thinking solutions and strategies that will help the DAF simplify operations, reduce deployment cycles, lower operational costs, and improve overall IT performance in support of its national security mission.
