Modernize Damen Elevators Construction at Jesse Brown VA Medical Center

The Jesse Brown VA Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, is seeking a qualified contractor to modernize nine elevators, including numbers 1 through 8 and the Morgue elevator, along with all associated machinery located in the machine room. The project requires the replacement and modernization of aged components, upgrades to enhance system reliability and performance, and updates to firefighter operations to comply with current code requirements. Additionally, the work includes replacing or modernizing elevator cars, hoist-way-door equipment, and car and corridor pushbuttons and signal fixtures to meet ADA requirements.

All improvements must align with the latest National Elevator Safety Code (ASME A17.1) and building code requirements as detailed in the construction documents. The project duration is set for completion within 490 calendar days from issuance of a Notice to Proceed. This solicitation is set aside exclusively for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs), in accordance with federal law and VA procurement guidelines.
