DESCRIPTION

This RFP seeks a consultant to provide medicine strategic plan services by conducting a comprehensive, evidence-informed curricular needs assessment through meaningful engagement with provincial and regional stakeholders in Prince Edward Island. The primary objective is to ensure the future medical curriculum addresses the health needs of the region, aligns with health system priorities, supports distributed and rural medical education, and incorporates emerging competencies for current and future medical practice.

The consultant will design and facilitate targeted focus groups with key partner groups and community organizations to gather qualitative insights. These sessions will utilize semi-structured discussion guides focusing on priority domains such as population health needs, graduate competencies, learning environments, and system capacity related to medical education. An online anonymous survey will also be developed, piloted, and administered to a broad range of stakeholders to collect wide-ranging input.

The successful proponent will develop data collection tools, analyze survey and focus group results, and deliver a concise PowerPoint presentation summarizing the curriculum needs assessment and strategic planning outcomes to the client. The contract period is one year, with all questions regarding the RFP due by March 26, 2026.
