A government authority in Pennsylvania is seeking information from qualified insurance carriers, brokers, or risk management providers regarding medical malpractice liability insurance for students enrolled in supervised health profession education programs. This is a request for information intended to identify available programs and qualified suppliers for direct purchase of coverage.
The agency is interested in programs that provide occurrence-based professional liability coverage, with tail coverage preferred, and minimum limits of $1,000,000 per claim and $3,000,000 annual aggregate. Eligible participants are all Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) medical students enrolled in the program.
Requested coverage should address professional liability arising from supervised clinical training and include telehealth or telemedicine services, Good Samaritan acts, legal defense costs and attorney fees, and coverage for students named in lawsuits involving training sites and/or preceptors. Questions must be submitted no later than May 11, 2026.
