DESCRIPTION

A vendor is sought to provide comprehensive medical coding services. The contractor must supply trained, credentialed professionals to review and assign accurate codes to medical records, ensuring compliance with all required character extensions and placeholders such as applicable 7th character and 'X' characters.

Services require careful evaluation of all available medical documentation, including physician orders, progress notes, operative reports, pathology and radiology results, discharge summaries, nursing documentation, and ancillary department records. Coding assignments must be completed within twenty-four (24) hours of receiving a complete and legible medical record, with the exception of specific inpatient cases where coding is due within twenty-four (24) hours after the receipt of the final authenticated discharge summary and all related ancillary reports.

Vendors may provide offshore coding and data-processing services if they meet the stipulated conditions. The selected contractor must be able to support all service lines and patient types.
