DESCRIPTION

The City of Tennessee is seeking a vendor to provide comprehensive life insurance, disability, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) administration services. The selected vendor will assist in designing a health and welfare benefits program that offers security, choice, and competitive rates for city employees and retirees.

Key responsibilities include account management such as attending open enrollment meetings, benefits fairs, and furnishing regular experience updates. The vendor will facilitate the creation of tailored benefits documentation, handle claims review and processing, issue necessary forms, and communicate claim decisions. Support is expected in facilitating appeals for denied claims and coordinating with third-party vendors as needed.

Additionally, the vendor must provide a dedicated member services group for claim intake and inquiries, offer an employee portal, identify appropriate return-to-work dates for disabled employees, secure necessary medical information, and determine the need for case management in disability cases. Assistance for employees in filing for Social Security benefits is also required. Pre-bid conference and inquiry deadlines are scheduled prior to proposal submission.
