A consultant is required to provide library facilities and strategic planning services in Ontario, Canada. The selected consultant will leverage their expertise in the library and municipal sectors, along with recent demographic and market research, to develop a Facilities Plan that will guide agency innovation and growth for the next 20 years.
Responsibilities include designing and managing a comprehensive planning process, developing a detailed project plan with clear phases, milestones, and decision points, and ensuring timely completion within scope and budget. The consultant will conduct public consultations to assess library programs, services, collections, facilities, and operating hours, gather input via meetings, interviews, and surveys, and synthesize findings into actionable insights.
Additional tasks involve reviewing relevant municipal plans, conducting an environmental scan to identify internal capacities and external trends, risks, and opportunities, and performing a thorough analysis of library branches to identify deficiencies and recommend improvements. The contract period is one year.
