A vendor is sought to develop a custom LabVIEW (or equivalent) software solution for acquiring data from Thermo Scientific Argus VI mass spectrometers. The software will integrate instrument and hardware communications with analytical data storage, incorporating required sample metadata for 40Ar/39Ar geochronology into an intuitive graphical user interface.
The contractor will actively involve laboratory personnel throughout the design and implementation process, providing simultaneous training in the programming environment with a focus on key components for long-term operation and maintenance.
The application must enable communication and control of various hardware peripherals, including Photon Machines lasers and motorized sample stages, pressure gauges, ion pumps, Agilent DAQs, and thermocouples. The software will store analytical data and instrument metadata appropriately in files or databases based on laboratory requirements.
