SUMMARY

Alberta seeks a SaaS platform to manage lab safety and hazardous materials, including inventory, workflows, inspections, and waste management.

DESCRIPTION

The province of Alberta is seeking a vendor to provide a comprehensive Software as a Service (SaaS) platform for managing lab safety and hazardous materials. The primary objective is to replace the current system with a robust, cloud-hosted solution that oversees every aspect of chemical inventory management, including chemical registration, hazard classification, expiry tracking, storage management, barcode/RFID tracking, hazard group visibility, notifications, and integration with other data sources.

Key requirements for the platform include complete workflow management for reconciliation processes such as single-page workspaces, multi-unit sessions, discrepancy detection and resolution, scanner support, compliance tracking, real-time inventory synchronization, and thorough auditability. The system should facilitate inspections through configurable checklists, scheduling, mobile capabilities, deficiency tracking, corrective actions, attachment management, and advanced dashboards and reporting features.

Additionally, the solution must address all stages of hazardous waste management, from classification and waste card creation to submission, approval, storage, collection, packaging, pickup scheduling, barcoding, shipping documentation, and final disposal with comprehensive regulatory reporting. Strong access management features are essential, offering role-based permissions, principal investigator and administrator access, delegated and temporary access, audit logging, and inspection-specific permissions. The anticipated contract term for this initiative is three years.
