California detention centers are seeking a qualified vendor to modernize jail door control systems and related security infrastructure. The project involves replacing a 24-year-old legacy Omron electro-mechanical jail door locking system and associated components. The selected contractor will be responsible for site protection, safeguarding existing surfaces, and performing all work while the facility remains occupied.
Key upgrades include installing an isolated security control network, integrating new IP cameras into the security system, and replacing analog visitation phones with new VOIP phones capable of recording. Additional tasks involve upgrading the keycard system, replacing old scramble pads with modern LED touchscreen pads, and incorporating multiple control panels into the new system. The scope also includes the removal of obsolete equipment, cabling, and devices to ensure a streamlined, modern security infrastructure. The vendor will be required to manage permits, coordinate installation across different detention areas, and meet all specifications for work in an occupied, secure environment.
