SUMMARY

Maryland is soliciting an IT risk assessment to evaluate and improve the security, reliability, and compliance of its IT environment.

DESCRIPTION

The government authority in Maryland is seeking a vendor to provide comprehensive IT risk assessment services. The engagement will cover an enterprise-wide review of the IT environment, including an evaluation of IT infrastructure, policies, procedures, and operational practices to identify risks, vulnerabilities, and compliance gaps.

The selected vendor will assess IT governance, organizational roles, and responsibilities, as well as review data centers, servers, cloud services, storage, and network infrastructure. Additional focus areas include system architecture, configuration management, patching, data classification and handling, retention, encryption practices, and software lifecycle management.

The assessment will identify single points of failure or operational weaknesses, review cybersecurity policies and technical controls such as firewalls and endpoint security, and evaluate user access management, authentication, and privilege escalation protocols. Clear and actionable recommendations are expected to strengthen the security, reliability, and resilience of the IT environment.
