DESCRIPTION

The selected vendor will provide comprehensive intelligent transportation systems (ITS) solutions, computer aided dispatch (CAD), and automatic vehicle location (AVL) services for Ride Calhoun's transit operations. These technology solutions will streamline management decision-making, scheduling, reporting, and overall customer service for paratransit, micro transit, and fixed route services.

The project scope requires integration of ITS technology on all vehicles, including passenger counting systems with geolocation, timestamping, and passenger classification capabilities. The solution must support administrative functions such as scheduling, run assignments, manual trip management, and configurable passenger notifications. Additional requirements include implementing electronic fare payment systems tailored to passenger classifications, destinations, zones, or vehicle types, as well as unifying onboard technology through a single data connection.

Vendors are also expected to provide a customer-facing platform—either standalone or integrated into the existing ridecalhoun.org website—for trip booking, payments, and post-ride feedback in multiple languages. The system must be capable of tracking, recording, and exporting data in compliance with National Transit Database (NTD) standards, with customizable reporting options.
