A government authority in Fincastle, Virginia is seeking a vendor to provide comprehensive insurance consultant services. The selected consultant will be responsible for reviewing the school board’s employee benefits program to ensure ongoing compliance with government regulations, including providing all necessary mandatory notices to employees.
The consultant will offer guidance and consultation regarding all aspects of employee benefit plans such as health, dental, vision, term life, accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D), long-term disability (LTD), employee assistance plans (EAP), cafeteria plans, personal leave, paid time off (PTO), and Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) administration. Responsibilities include assisting with benefit communications, hosting group meetings to educate employees on available options, and managing renewals for individual coverage policies.
Additional duties include analyzing broker renewal proposals, recommending new insurance coverages, identifying risk exposures, maintaining communications with agency brokers to optimize coverage and minimize costs, assisting with premium forecasts and coverage changes, and providing input on safety and loss control. The firm will also prepare and maintain records of current policies with clear abstracts, and develop planning timetables and negotiation strategies for insurance renewals.
