The selected vendor will provide insurance benefits consulting services to a government authority in Chatham, Virginia. The consultant is expected to conduct research and respond to technical inquiries from the agency, assist with the annual renewal of all insurance products, and perform yearly reviews and consultations on employee insurance programs, including medical, dental, and vision plans, employee assistance programs, and local disability insurance. This includes assessing plan designs, utilization, access, and cost impacts.
The consultant will also track and report the progress of benefit plans quarterly, coordinate with benefit providers to collect performance data, and advise on plan interpretation and problem resolution. Attendance at review meetings to support management of all insurance programs is required. Maintaining all records for a period of five years from contract inception is mandatory. Additional responsibilities include assisting with annual enrollment meetings, supporting employees with online enrollment, and facilitating verbal and print communications. The consultant is to monitor ongoing contracts for compliance and claims, as well as provide the proposed rate for administering COBRA.
