The government authority in Hanover, Virginia is seeking a qualified vendor to provide inmate counseling services at the Pamunkey Regional Jail. Required services include individual counseling, parenting education, referrals for drug and alcohol treatment, assistance with shelter and clothing, healthy relationship education, substance abuse education, anger management, financial literacy, and other related programs and group services.
The contractor will work a set schedule of 24 hours per week between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., covering three days per week at the facility. Missed hours due to sick or personal leave must be made up within 30 days, and a list of all contract staff and volunteers is to be provided to the jail.
Additional responsibilities include intake services, completing risk and needs assessments, making referrals for re-entry services, and working with inmates individually and in group settings to prepare them for release into the community. The contractor is expected to facilitate no more than one group per day in order to balance individual visits and other requirements.
The contract period will be for one year.
