SUMMARY

RFP for a biometric inmate monitoring system with real-time vital reporting and staff alerts in Colorado.

DESCRIPTION

The State of Colorado is seeking a vendor to provide an inmate biometrics monitoring system designed to enhance the safety and well-being of inmates through real-time vital sign reporting and staff alerts. This system will function as a supplemental tool to assist correctional staff, delivering objective, immediate data to facilitate quicker and more effective responses to medical emergencies, especially for individuals with severe health conditions, those undergoing substance withdrawal, or those considered at risk for self-harm.

Key requirements for the monitoring system include a tamper-proof design with built-in alerts to notify staff of any unauthorized removal or manipulation, water and moisture resistance to ensure reliable readings, and impact resistance with sensor-driven notifications for staff. The device should also offer a long-lasting battery to minimize charging frequency. In addition, the system must provide a full-featured monitoring and analytics suite, accessible via Microsoft Windows or a web-based platform, to track and report inmate vital signs and activities efficiently.

The contract for the successful vendor is expected to last for three years.
