The US Army Combat Capabilities Development Command – Soldier Center (DEVCOM–SC) seeks technology providers for next-generation Insulated Food Containers (IFC–i) and Insulated Beverage Containers (IBC–i) with enhanced thermal performance, a collapsible design for a reduced logistics footprint, and optional active thermal management features. This initiative aims to support expeditionary feeding operations, facilitating the transport of UGR–H&S rations from central preparation to forward feeding sites. The improved containers are intended to replace current models, addressing existing issues of weight, bulk, and thermal inefficiency in demanding field environments.
DEVCOM–SC requests information or preproposals from organizations capable of delivering scalable and modular insulated food and beverage storage and transport solutions for distributed feeding in austere locations. The new units should provide lightweight, collapsible, and energy-efficient containment with both passive and optional active thermal capabilities, ensuring food safety standards (140°F for hot holding, 41°F for cold holding). The new systems must integrate with a range of fielded and future expeditionary food service platforms. Respondents should detail their technical ability to meet or exceed specified thermal performance thresholds as outlined in the project documentation.
