The government authority in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania is seeking proposals for a hyperconverged infrastructure solution to support approximately 80 virtual machines and a minimum of 30 TB of usable storage capacity. The solution should provide scalable configuration with flexibility for future growth, and accommodate current workloads; a VM inventory can be made available to assist in solution planning.

Server hardware is required to include TPM 2.0 security modules, and the infrastructure must have high availability, specifically tolerating at least an N+1 node failure without service disruption. Enhanced fault tolerance is encouraged. Native integration with Veeam Backup & Replication—supporting VM backup and restore via Veeam APIs—is mandatory for data protection needs.

Solutions may utilize any hypervisor platform; if proposing a non-VMware environment, vendors must provide a clear and effective migration plan from VMware, outlining minimal downtime and specifying tools or services for VM migration. Modern security practices are essential, including features such as role-based access control, encryption for data at rest and in transit, secure boot, audit logging, and SIEM integration. Vendors should describe how their security architecture adheres to industry best practices and standards such as CIS or NIST.
