County Of Humboldt
Organization overview and procurement intelligence available on paid plans.
The agency is seeking a consultant to conduct a comprehensive study on natural and working lands carbon stocks and management within Humboldt County, California. The selected contractor will prepare a countywide Natural and Working Lands Carbon Stock Inventory and a Carbon Sequestration Feasibility Study, quantifying and evaluating current and potential carbon sequestration of biomass and soil carbon. This study aims to inform conservation planning, land management strategies, and land use policies that support carbon neutrality.
The final report should include an assessment of the stability of existing carbon stocks and provide projections and estimates regarding the impact of scenarios such as land restoration, changes in land use, and fire events (both wild and prescribed) on carbon sequestration and storage in the region. Additionally, the contractor will develop strategies and project recommendations to optimize carbon sequestration, thereby assisting the agency in prioritizing conservation efforts. The contract period will be one year, culminating in a final summary report and feasibility study.
