DESCRIPTION

The government authority in Springs, Colorado seeks a qualified vendor to provide high-performance, brand-neutral network, security, and intercom cabling infrastructure services. The project requires comprehensive cabling and wiring solutions for network connectivity, security systems, and intercom endpoints across the agency’s facilities. The contractor will be responsible for physical installation and termination of all cables, while agency personnel will conduct final patch connections to active data and voice equipment.

Key requirements include installation of a 10-foot service loop on each end of cables in communications equipment rooms, secure cabling support using J-Hooks or similar systems at intervals of no more than 30 inches, and proper firestopping for all pipes and conduits utilized. All Ethernet cables must be at minimum Category 6 (CAT6), plenum-rated, LSZH compliant, and terminated to T568B standards. For wireless access points, Category 6A (CAT6A) cables are required. Armored OM4 fiber optic cabling with LC connectors must be used for interior spaces, while outdoor fiber must be placed in conduit.

The District is transitioning to a fully IP-based Intercom System, with all intercom endpoints treated as standard network nodes. All intercom cabling must be Category 6, blue-jacketed, plenum-rated, and LSZH compliant, terminating into standard patch panels at designated locations. All cabling terminations are required to support and be verified for PoE/PoE+ compatibility. The anticipated contract period is five years, with a deadline for questions set prior to the proposal deadline.
