DESCRIPTION

This RFP seeks a vendor to provide comprehensive health information exchange (HIE) implementation and operational services in Alabama. The vendor will be responsible for supporting and integrating standards-based solutions to enable effective connectivity and immediate access to critical health information for patients, providers, and payers. This ensures health information is accessible at the point of care for all patient encounters.

The services required include daily maintenance and operational support, facilitating administrative efficiencies and clinical effectiveness such as reducing medical errors, avoiding duplicative procedures, and improving coordination of care. The contracted vendor must link the full continuum of providers—including public and private sectors, physicians, clinics, labs, and medical facilities—to achieve seamless health data exchange. The contract will span two years.
