SUMMARY

Massachusetts seeks a 3-year gunfire detection, alert, and patrol management solution using acoustic sensors and surveillance integration.

DESCRIPTION

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is seeking proposals for a comprehensive gunfire abatement, alert, location, and patrol management solution. The project requires the implementation of a wide-area acoustic surveillance system capable of detecting gunfire incidents and delivering real-time alerts to designated endpoints. Critical stakeholders include public safety answering points (PSAPs), command and control centers, and field personnel.

Vendors must provide acoustic sensors that capture, time-stamp (using UTC), and convey actual audio associated with trigger events. This audio must be retrievable for investigative and forensic analysis, and integrity must be ensured through checksums or similar mechanisms to support chain of custody protocols. The system should cover a service area of 8.06 square miles and be available via a subscription for a three-year period. Additional requirements include integration with video surveillance and/or physical security information management (PSIM) systems, as well as robust patrol management capabilities. Comprehensive training for both strategic and tactical use of the system is also expected as part of the solution.

The contract will be for three years, encompassing initiation, startup, and ongoing support for the specified coverage area.
