SUMMARY

Seeking geotechnical investigation and percolation testing services to assess site hazards and provide engineering recommendations in Desert Hot Springs, CA.

DESCRIPTION

A government authority in Desert Hot Springs, CA is seeking a qualified vendor to provide geotechnical investigation and percolation testing services. The primary objective is to assess both surface and subsurface soil conditions, evaluate the general site geology, and identify potential geologic hazards such as seismic shaking, liquefaction-induced settlement, and compressible near-surface soils. This study will help determine geotechnical constraints that may affect future site improvements, with special attention to risks associated with faulting, liquefaction, and seismic activity.

The selected provider will be responsible for conducting site reconnaissance, coordinating Underground Service Alert mark-out and notification, drilling and logging geotechnical and percolation test borings, collecting soil samples, and performing percolation and laboratory tests on the samples. Engineering analyses will be required to develop recommendations in several areas, including grading and remedial grading, material shrinkage, seismic design considerations, shallow and deep foundation design, retaining wall construction, passive lateral design, concrete flatwork, preliminary pavement design, trenching and shoring, as well as site drainage. The final deliverable will be a comprehensive report detailing findings and engineering recommendations.
