The City of San Francisco is seeking qualified vendors to provide on-call geotechnical engineering services. Firms will be engaged on an as-needed basis to support government projects within the region. The scope of work includes field investigation and exploration of new and existing structure foundations, assessment of groundwater and seepage, identification of subsurface hazards, and evaluation of soil and rock conditions.
Vendors may be required to perform field and laboratory testing such as soil sampling, drilling, cone penetration testing, trenching, and geotechnical analyses. The services will also encompass engineering analysis for both new construction and retrofit projects, covering foundations for buildings, bridges, viaducts, retaining walls, and underground structures. Deliverables may include investigation and recommendation reports, CAD drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and support throughout construction. Additional responsibilities may involve value engineering, peer review consultation, quality assurance/quality control, and presentations to city officials and neighborhood groups.
